Louise Pond

I am passionate about this place I now call home! Born and raised in Michigan, I moved north 5 years ago and have fallen into this most wonderful life of plein air painting. Living in northern Michigan gives me the opportunity to walk out my door and be in the most beautiful place on earth! I love pastels for many reasons, besides the vibrant colors and durability that lasts a lifetime and beyond, they are easy in the field, not needing oil, water or brushes. I enjoy being outside just myself and nature, battling away trying to capture the light and atmosphere of my subject. The lakes and streams, farms and forests beckon me in all kinds of weather, and all four seasons. I can't imagine doing anything else!
