On Friday, April 29, we hosted a reception and private screening of Ron Howard’s “We Feed People” and raised over $20,000 for World Central Kitchen!
Chef Matt Bugera of The New York Restaurant provided the food for our first night fundraising event at The Lyric Theatre. One of the appetizers was Vareniky (Ukrainian dumplings) which are a staple of the Ukrainian culture.
Chef Matt proudly wore a special Ukrainian-inspired chef coat which Joann Condino wood blocked as a gift for all of Matt’s support.
First Night Event included presentations on the status of relief efforts in Ukraine.
The private screening was of the “We Feed People” documentary directed by Ron Howard. The film is about World Central Kitchen’s founder, renowned chef and humanitarian José Andrés, and their work to provide fresh, nourishing meals to communities impacted by natural disasters and other crises around the world.
The First Night private screening and reception was brought to you by The Lyric Theatre and Three Pines Studio. All donations are supporting the World Central Kitchen.
You can still donate online!
