Paper is a playful and mysterious art medium. It all starts with the pulp and can be transformed into sculpture, drawings and paintings and can create wonderfully textured work.
In this workshop you will learn the basics of hand papermaking. Using cotton fiber, you will learn sheet forming and pigmenting as well as an introduction to using pulp as a painting medium. We will also explore the properties and uses of other fibers. Class will be held outside under tents. Please dress for the weather.
Papermaking is a very wet and sometimes messy process. Please wear waterproof shoes or sandals. Aprons will be provided. Class size is limited to 8 people total and all ages are welcome. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Supply list will be emailed after registration.
Your paper will dry at the studio and may be picked up or mailed to you.
