Kimberly Keshick is the daughter of Yvonne Walker-Keshick, Odawa/Ojibwe quill artist and recipient of the NEA Heritage Fellowship award winner (2014) and The Michigan Heritage Award (1994). Her father is the late John Keshick II, Odawa/Ojibwe/Potawatomi. He was a commercial fishermen/quill worker who learned from Yvonne. Kimberly has been learning quill art since birth. In 2004 she branched out from the traditional quill box design and construction by creating contemporary quill box designs incorporating dreamcatchers, Petoskey stones, and blending old style plaited quill working into her designs.
