Painting Workshop with Louise Pond
One day workshop for beginner and intermediate

- Time: 9:30am – 4:00pm

This one day workshop will focus on the spontaneity of painting from life. En plein air is where the magic lies! We will be learning to see like artists and using value, composition and perspective to create a piece with depth and vibrancy. Nature is our teacher, we just need to be ready to capture that moment. Northern Michigan is the place, in every direction there’s beauty for the artist.
We will be outdoors, so dress accordingly. Bring a bag lunch and plenty of water.
All mediums welcome. If using paint, a good grasp of color mixing is required. If using pastels, I will be providing a few of my favorite “work horse” pastels and my favorite paper.
Workshop Supplies:
- A good plein air easel and side table
- Masonite board to accommodate 12×16 paper (pastel)
- Canvas (oils and acrylic)
- Chair
- Sketch pad and # 2 pencil with kneaded eraser
- Paper towels
- Baby wipes (pastels)
- Tape, straight edge
- Pastels- a minimum of 125 colors. (Dick Blick Art Supplies, Rembrandt 1/2 stick basic box)
- Paints-whatever you use, brushes etc…
